FC PoPa has signed a two-year contract with a centre back Joni Vuorinen, 20, today. Joni, hailing from Turku, has trained with PoPa since January, and convinced the coaching staff of the team during this spell.
Joni has played about twenty youth international matches during his career. He is satisfied with the new contract.
- This was the best possible solution at this stage of my career, and I'm really happy that we made the contract. The team seems to be good throughout and aiming high, so I'm eagerly looking forward to the beginning of the season. My personal objectives are to get as much playing time as possible, to help the team on the field and to develop to the next level as a player.
Antti Sumiala thinks the new contract is consistent with the team strategy and enlightens the current player situation of the team.
- We wanted a young and talented player with a potential to develop into a player more skilled than the first division level. Joni has proved his potential in the winter matches, and it is fine that we got the contract signed.
- Along wih this purchase, the basic package of the team is together. The situation with the foreign players of last year, Michael Akuffu, Dema and Paulao, is still unsettled, and our eyes are also open for other reinforcements.
